The Lychee Road

During the Tang Dynasty`s Tianbao era, a minor official in Chang`an, Li Shan De, is suddenly assigned an unusual task: to transport fresh lychees from Lingnan to the capital. However, lychees spoil easily and lose their flavor within three days of being picked - while Lingnan is over 5,000 li (roughly 2,500 kilometers) away from Chang`an. It seems like an impossible mission. Yet, for the sake of his wife and daughter back home, Li Shan De resolves to take a daring gamble.
